Higher Society House of Commerce is a developing community housing initiative based in Edmonton, Calgary, Alberta. Our mission is to help people experiencing homelessness move from survival into stability through safe tiny-home housing, daily support, hygiene access, meals, laundry, life-skills education, and connections to mental health and addiction recovery services.
We believe every person deserves dignity, respect, safety, and a real chance to rebuild their life. Our long-term vision is to create a supportive tiny-home community with on-site facilities, trained staff, and practical programs that help residents move toward independence.
Our comprehensive support programs

Higher Society House of Commerce is being built to respond with practical solutions: safe shelter, clean facilities, recovery-focused programming, and a community environment where people are treated with dignity instead of judgment.
Mental health and addiction support

Supportive programming focused on recovery, counselling connections, peer support, relapse prevention, and long-term stability.
Life Skills & Self-Care
Workshops on hygiene, cooking, cleaning, communication, budgeting, employment preparation, and daily routines.
Health & Wellness Support
On-site support workers and partnerships with local health providers to help residents access care, medication support, and wellness checks.
Advancement of Public Safety and WelfareTo operate a single-point access residential facility utilizing Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles, ensuring a safe environment for residents while mitigating regional crime and homelessness-related public safety friction in cooperation with local municipal authorities and law enforcement.
Safety Mandate: 24/7 front-gate controlled access, continuous perimeter security monitoring, and on-site caseworkers to ensure zero unauthorized traffic, preventing neighborhood friction and internal illicit activity.
Basic hygiene and self-care education
We empower residents with essential life skills, offering learning opportunities in basic hygiene and self-care to promote independence and confidence.
24/7 on-site health care aids
On-site support workers and partnerships with local health providers to help residents access care, medication support, and wellness checks.
Sustainable tiny homes and facilities
Our long-term goal is to build a supportive tiny-home community with approximately 50 to 80 small homes, shared laundry facilities, a kitchen and dining area, staff support, and solar-powered infrastructure where possible.
Infrastructure Layout: 80 winterized micro-homes arranged in a secure, single-entry CPTED horseshoe grid. Centralized facility includes a containerized commercial kitchen and a 50-seat dining hall.

Right now in Canada, families are making impossible choices between rent and groceries. The cost of basic necessities has skyrocketed, pushing more people toward housing instability than we’ve seen in decades.
Many people experiencing homelessness do not have access to adequate healthcare. In Ontario, proof of address is mandatory for procuring an OHIP card, which allows the bearer to access provincial health services. As such, people who do not have a permanent address can find themselves unable to use even the most fundamental public health resources.
Regeneration Outreach offers physical and mental health support through our weekly Life Skills classes. We also provide additional resources through our Addiction Services program and have access to a nurse practitioner through our partnership with Addiction Recovery Centre. We work closely with all our community members to learn about their individual needs and strive to connect them with appropriate with health care services.
